A victory for the Spaghetti Monster!

Evolution Slate Outpolls Rivals

All eight members up for re-election to the Pennsylvania school board that had been sued for introducing the teaching of intelligent design as an alternative to evolution in biology class were swept out of office yesterday by a slate of challengers who campaigned against the intelligent design policy.

What a beautiful day. It looks like sanity might soon be returning to our fair nation!

Hmm . . . teach kids more than one theory so they can make up their own mind or let them learn to fear differing opinions out of ignorance. Such a delimma. . . .

Hmm, teach science in science class, or teach religion and label it science. Yep, that's a hard choice, all right.

I grew up believing in some sort of intelligent design. I do believe in God, and that She created the universe and the life in it. I just believe that She did so via evolution. And I learned about God in my religion classes, and about science in my science classes.

Funny, isn't it, that when it's convenient, certain folks talk about "differnt opinions." Yet so often, those same people do not want to hear the differing opinions with which they do not agree. I propose we include all these things in our public school curriculum: Intelligent Design, Giant Spaghetti Monster design, sex ed, contraception, and Heather Has Two Mommies. After all, we wouldn't want our kids to be ignorant and fear any differing opinions, would we?
